Medicinal plant and Herbal tour

Step into the world of herbalism in the rainforest. Learn from a Huetar indigenous knowledge keeper and his wife about how plants were used as medicine, food, and shelter.

Use your five senses to explore the over 100 medicinal and cultural plants.

CULTURAL & MEDICINAL PLANT WALK:

How did indigenous families survive in the jungle before running water, buses (and roads!) to the supermarket, electricity, and doctors nearby?

Come to walk leisurely with Solin, our neighbour, while he shares his local history and culture.

During this interactive tour, you will meet 20-30 plants and share the family’s indigenous Huetar stories about their uses of plants.

A great introduction to tropical herbs and local culture!

The tour’s duration is approximately 1,5 hours.

Price: $34.00/person*
(minimum of 2 people)

MAKE YOUR OWN HERBAL PRODUCTS:

You will enjoy a short leisurely walk to explore some medicinal plants growing on our neighbour’s farm.

You will share with them an ancestral recipe (or two!) and how their “abuelos” used Mother Earth’s gifts.

Your imagination will take you back in history, while combining tradition with modern and scientific herbal medicine making techniques.

You will leave with an herbal a tea, a tincture or a salve made by you !

The tour’s duration is approximately 1,5 hours.

Price: $34.00/person*
(minimum of 3 people)
