During your hikes to waterfalls, mountain peaks and rivers, you’ll see endemic species of plants and animals (birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and insects).
Bird watching :
Mastatal is on the boarder of la Cangreja National Park. The surrounding jungle attracts more than 358 different species.
The bird watching tour with a certified Costa Rican guide from the village of Mastatal, will make you see birds, plants and animals that our eyes hardly can see unless you have been trained before!! Come with a camera if possible.
Tour starts early morning at 5:30 and ends for breakfast time.

Night walks :
More than 60 % of the wildlife found in tropical rainforest is nocturnal.
During night walks, with a certified Costa Rican guide from the village of Mastatal you may see lots of amphibians, occasionally a reptile and luckily some nocturnal mammals.
The walk starts at 6pm for approximately 1h½ among easily accessible trails for the whole family.
You will be back for dinner.
