Family breakfast at Hacienda Las Vainillas in Costa Rica

This little gem is truly fantastic. I was a little nervous since I planned out first trip to Costa Rica without any advice or first hand recommendations but when we arrived at the Hacienda we were mesmerized from the start. The rooms are absolutely beautiful overlooking the mountains. The grounds are stunning and very well maintained. Philippe and Frederique were incredibly warm and attentive. The food they prepared for us every day was so so good - our two kids (9 and 12) tried things (and actually finished them) they never did before. It is fascinating to see how they both put so much passion and heart into their project.
We saw monkeys, lots of birds and beautiful wildlife. We also took a night tour in the adjacent park and saw scorpions, frogs and other wildlife.
Philippe gave us a very educational tour through his vanilla farm. The kids loved the little ride in his off road cruiser 😆 It really felt like being „home“ .
We will definitely be back.
